In 10 or 20 years, my children will hear my voice… Anyway, because I didn’t always dream of becoming singer, the members really had a hard time because of me. Immature Lee Sungyeol from the past, clenched his teeth only late, while preparing this album, and even having the concert, the time where I could look back on myself came. So I don’t regret starting late at all. No matter how I see it, I was really late but I kept the words ‘Better late than never’ in my heart and did my best to prepare for this album. Until I become a person who looks forward to tomorrow rather than today, I won’t slack around and will work hard. With the entrance of Infinite, the front road of Seoul, Hongdae was blocked.
Infinite was in the middle of doing pre-recordings for KBS 2TV ‘Live Nationwide News’ on the afternoon of the 19th near Hongdae. Although they recorded for around 20 minutes, they had to leave the scene quicker than planned because many people started to gather up.
After this, pictures from the scene were posted on various online communities, allowing you to guess what the atmosphere was like at that time.
Around 500~600 fans who wanted to meet Infinite close up, gathered at the scene and created an overcrowded situation. However, they say that Infinite consistently held a bright expression.
Meanwhile, Infinite revealed their 3rd mini album, ‘Infinitize’, on the 15th and are now continuing active promotions with their title song, ‘The Chaser’.

The group, Infinite, who came back to their fans’ embrace in 6 months, revealed their thoughts on their comeback.
‘OhmyStar’ met with Infinite on the 18th while they were waiting for the live broadcast of KBS 2TV ‘Music Bank’ at Seoul Yeouido KBS Open Hall in their waiting room and they said, “Because it’s been a long time, we’re nervous and it feels awkward. We were a bit tense as well (while doing the pre-recording), but we found our mood.”
Before having their comeback through music broadcasts, Infinite opened showcases in 5 Korean cities by using a helicopter. Along with it being a new try, they said it was also meaningful because it allowed them to meet with fans from various places. Dongwoo revealed, “More people watch over and give us interest than they used to. We’re a bit burdened with thoughts that we have to show a good stage.”
Their title song, ‘The Chaser’, is a dance song that mixes in a couple Korean-style elements in it. Although the ‘angled group choreography’ that you think of when thinking of Infinite is still there, the different feel from ‘BTD’ and ‘Be Mine’ leaves a deep impression. Dongwoo explained, “We were wondering a lot about the song’s style, but we wanted to try out (a new feel) and work it well. K-POP is extending out in the world, and we hope it gives us the chance to inform people about the traditional Korean style.”
Because they were preparing for their album during the same time as their Japanese promotions, they lacked in practice time and felt pressured as well. Their leader, Sunggyu, gave a smile and said, “Because we were promoting in Japan, we didn’t get to practice much. Since there wasn’t a fixed practice room (in Japan), we practiced in various places. Although we were burdened, it’s okay now.”
Infinite showed their strong determination by saying, “Although we’re a dance group, that’s not all we can do.” I asked what ‘1st place’ meant to them. Sunggyu said, “Although getting 1st place is meaningful and an honor, our ultimate goal isn’t to get 1st place.” He added on, “We want to let people who love our music listen to it.”

Infinite revealed that their nervous emotions were large due to their long period of absence.
Infinite met up with a reporter on May 18th in the waiting room of KBS 2TV ‘Music Bank’ and revealed their thoughts on starting promotions after a long time.
Their member, Dongwoo, said, “Because our period of absence was this long for the first time, we were really nervous and felt pressured. I was happy because I saw today that there were many fans who were waiting for us. Although we did a concert during that time as well, music broadcasts have an addictive feel to it, so I missed it and was worried that we wouldn’t meet up to the expectations.”
Continuing on, they explained about their title song, ‘The Chaser’, by adding, “To be unique, we decided to go towards a classic feel. We wanted to show the Korean-style of emotions through music. Among the recordings we’ve done till now, this recording was the hardest.”
Infinite released their 3rd mini album, INFINITIZE, on May 13th and made a fantastic comeback by opening a nonstop showcase in 5 cities in Korea. Their title song, ‘The Chaser’, is a song consisting Korean-style emotions and a refined melody. Infinite, who seemed to be combined with both performance and skills, create stages that you cannot take your eyes off from.
Infinite, who are doing promotions that will capture your eyes the most among other recent boy groups, will be representatives that take care of the boy group drought that’s happening among female singers’ promotions through their music qualities and performances that didn’t disappoint and stage manner that continuously improves.
Their performance that opened twice last February at the Seoul Olympic Handball Stadium, made a record of selling out in tickets and they quickly opened an encore concert. With opening a large-scale encore concert in the Gymnastics stadium, we were able to see where Infinite stood in the music industry. As they received a high amount of popularity in not just Korea, but Japan as well, they proved their existence by continuously opening concerts last year and this year.
Compared to the other colleagues who debuted around the same time as Infinite, who has almost debuted for 2 years, they are showing promotions that stand out and have certainly rose up as one of the top level groups. Infinite, who have taken place as a group that you cannot look at easily, make it seem like their rise will not die down for quite a long time.
